My goal in creating a painting
is to analyze the "heart" of the subject and then to develop the
scene with color and tone value that will give the viewers the
feeling of being there.
This strategy helps me to
determine the mood of the painting . I prefer subjects which
can be painted in may different compositions. Mood, vibrant
flow of color and soft lighting describe the individual experience
and interpretation of each of my paintings.
Painting on location enables me
to feel the spirit of the environment . When painting on
location, decisions must be make quickly to formulate a plan because
of the changing light and weather of the Southwest. Therein
lies the wonderful challenge. I hope that the viewer will
enjoy my experience and excitement.
